DarkOrkut is Back

After a long break of about one year (8 months exactly), DarkOrkut is back. Several assignments, busy schedules and engagements with SolidBlogger, a tech blog, did not allow me to dedicate time to DarkOrkut. The most pathetic part (for me) is that I could not even hit it to the admin panel of DarkOrkut and check the statistics during this period.

I logged in to the admin panel today to find hundreds of pending comments awaiting approval, several plugins are out-dated (new updates were available) and an irritating theme (I used to find it attractive sometime back ). So, now what I am going to do is approve those 500+ pending comments and reply to them, if necessary, and post replies to all Dark Orkut Help Center questions. It will take some time to respond to such a large number of comments, but I need to get them approved ASAP. I have switched back the theme to an earlier one for the time being.

Even I am not so active on Orkut these days, so it will take a while to get my hands on various things and write posts on them. Although I can’t promise frequent posts, DarkOrkut is going to be updated in regular intervals from now on.

And yes, even after lying dead for several months, it managed to get more than 14K RSS readers. Thanks to all readers for continuous love and support.

How To Upload Multiple Pictures To your Orkut Album

1. Log in to your Orkut profile and click on Photos.
2. You can see a button there saying Create New Album. Click on it.



3. Give a title to your album. Fill up the description box and choose the album sharing option.



4. Click on Create to get the new album created. Now you are done with creating a new Orkut Photo Album.
5. It’s time to upload pics to your newly created album. For this click on Add Photos button.



6. A new window will pop up. Browse images that you want to upload.



7. Click on Upload Photos to resume the uploading process.



8. Now the photos will start getting uploaded to your album. Once finished, you will see a new page like the below screenshot.



9. Give proper title to each of your pics, tick the box next to the image if you want to make it your album cover, or you may also delete the pic by choosing the option next to it.
10. That’s it. Your orkut album is now ready for viewing.

FORCE LOGOUT YOUR FRIENDS

just paste this code to your friend's scrapbook and he will be logged off as soon as he (or anyone else) visits his scrapbook.

After you have used this code on your friend's scrapbook, he will be able to use his scrapbook after he gets atleast ten more scraps.

WARNING : Posting the code in your scrapbook may lock your scrapbook for you as well.

Follow the steps:

1) Open your friend's scrapbook.

Just visit your homepage on orkut and see your friend list under the heading my friends. The links to your friends' profiles are arranged in a manner that the name of the person who has done any last activity on orkut is shown as the first.

2) Delete First and Second Name

3) Then on the first name text box type ALT + 0173 (i.e. Type 0173 while pressing the ALT key of your keyboard.)

Add Co-Owners to Your Orkut Community - Excellent Feature With Some Risk Factors

Orkut just introduced a new feature which gives all orkut community owners the ability to add co-owners to handle their community better. This is a very helpful feature for guys like me who have to moderate communities with different profiles. This feature comes with a serious drawback, making this feature a risky one if used carelessly. Let us elaborate on the new feature and it's risk factors.

* Navigate to your community homepage.
* You will notice an option to add co-owners to the community just below the owner field.
* Click on add co-owner option and you'll be taken to a page shown in the screenshot below.






* Search for the 'potential co-owner' and grant hin co-owner privileges.
* That will do the job.


Important Notes


* You can have up-to two co-owners for a community.
* A co-owner can perform all actions which the original owner performs.
