1. Metallic Green Bees

Bees come in a variety of colors including red, blue, and green, not just yellow and black stripes. Bees in the genus Agapostemon are not only green, but shiny.

2. Yellow Lobsters

A yellow lobster was caught in Newport, Rhode Island. Approximately 1 in every 30 million lobsters is yellow.

3. Blue Tree Frogs

Mediterranean tree frogs are normally bright green, but every once and a while a blue specimen is born.

4. Orange Crocodiles

This is Snappy, the crocodile that surprised his handlers by suddenly turning orange in late 2011. The handlers suspected that iron or tannins in the water were responsible. No harm came to Snappy after he turned orange. Coincidentally, an orange alligator was sighted earlier in 2011.

5. Pink African Grey Parrots

Pink patches in African Greys (which, as you might guess, are normally grey) began as a naturally occurring color morph. Over the years, breeders ended up with 100% pink specimens. The first all-pink Greys sold for over $150,000.

6. White Monarch Butterflies

White Monarch Butterflies are rare variant of the standard orange Monarch that appear in roughly 1% of the Monarch population.

7. Purple Corn Snakes

Corn snakes are normally red with orange saddle marks, but there are a variety of corn snake color morphs ranging from fluorescent orange to purple.

8. Green Sloths

Sloths fur is an ideal environment for blue-green algae. Unlike most fur-bearing animals, sloth's fur will absorb water, which encourages algae to grow and impart a green hue.

Narwhal, the Unicorn of the Sea

The legendary narwhal is famous for its unicorn-like single tusk. The narwhal, or narwhale (Monodon monoceros) is the unicorn of the sea.

These 3,500 lbs (1,600 kg) creatures have two teeth and in the males, the more prominent tooth grows out through the upper lips into a long swordlike, spiralled tusk that can reach 2.5 metres (8.8 feet) in length.

It is believed by some scientist that the tusk is prominent in mating rituals, perhaps used to impress females or to battle rival suitors.

Females occasionally grow a small tusk and males have been seen with two, or none.

Narwhals are inhabitants of Arctic coastal waters and rivers. They are related to bottlenose dolphins, belugas, harbor porpoises, and orcas.
